This policy applies to our website at theyardocnj.com and to The Yard mobile application (the "App"), together referred to as the "Service." The Yard is part of the OCNJ Watersports family of businesses and operates an aerial netted playground and café at 741 West Ave, Ocean City, NJ.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

• Contact and booking details. When you contact us, make a reservation, purchase a membership, or place an order, we may collect your name, email address, and phone number.
• Café orders. When you order food or drinks through the App, we collect the items you order and the name used for pickup. Payment card information is entered directly on our payment processor’s secure checkout page (Square) and is never accessed or stored by The Yard.
• Photo submissions. If you choose to submit a photo through the App, we collect the image and any optional caption, name, and email you provide. Submitted photos are reviewed by our staff and are never posted publicly without review; with your permission we may feature them in our marketing.
• Communications. Information you provide when you contact us with a question or request.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data. When you use the Service, we and our analytics providers automatically collect information such as your device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, app interactions and screen views, pages visited, IP address, and diagnostic data.
• Push notification token. If you enable notifications in the App, we collect a device push token so we can send you announcements and updates. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
• Cookies (website). Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and to analyze site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Information stored only on your device

• Yard Club Member ID. Your membership ID is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored by us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including processing café orders, reservations, and memberships;
• send you push notifications and announcements you have opted into;
• understand how the Service is used so we can improve it;
• respond to your questions and requests;
• with your consent, feature submitted photos in our marketing;
• send you news, offers, and information about our services (you may opt out at any time); and
• comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, and The Yard.

Third-Party Services We Use

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who process it on our behalf to deliver features of the Service. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Square — café menu, ordering, and payment processing.
• FareHarbor — reservations, ticketing, and membership purchases.
• Google Firebase (Google LLC) — app analytics (usage and device identifiers) and push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the App’s backend services.
• Sanity — content management for the App’s events, gallery, and other content.
• Meta Platforms / Instagram — the App displays The Yard’s own public Instagram posts. If you choose to follow us or interact with our Instagram content, Meta’s privacy policy applies.

We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or sale of assets), or when required by law or to protect legal rights and safety.

Analytics and Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Analytics to collect usage and device information that helps us understand and improve the Service. You can limit certain analytics collection through your device’s privacy settings. Push notifications are optional and can be disabled at any time in your device’s notification settings, which stops us from sending them.

Retention of Your Information

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period, except where it is used to improve security or functionality or where we are legally required to retain it.

• turn off push notifications in your device settings;
